Refund Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Refund Policy explains how refunds, withdrawal requests, billing issues, failed access situations, duplicate charges, and exceptional refund requests are handled for MicroSigns.
MicroSigns is an online educational platform that provides digital access to facial expression and micro-expression training features. Because our paid products are delivered digitally and may be accessible immediately after purchase, specific refund and withdrawal rules apply.
1. Operator of the Service
MicroSigns is operated by NON | NÉGOCIABLE, a French company.
Legal name: NON | NÉGOCIABLE
Legal form: SASU
Registered office: 38 rue des Aqueducs 69005 Lyon - FRANCE
Registration number: 989 325 725
VAT number: FR93989325725
Contact email: legal@micro-signs.com
2. Scope of This Refund Policy
This Refund Policy applies to purchases made directly through MicroSigns, including purchases processed through our checkout provider, such as Stripe.
This Refund Policy currently applies to the Founder Pass and any other digital access product sold directly by MicroSigns.
If you purchased MicroSigns through a third-party marketplace, app store, reseller, training partner, or enterprise agreement, the refund terms of that third party or separate agreement may apply instead.
3. Nature of the Founder Pass
The MicroSigns Founder Pass is a digital access product. Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, it is a one-time payment that grants access to premium digital features made available under the Founder Pass.
The Founder Pass is not a subscription. You will not be billed on a recurring basis for the Founder Pass unless you separately and expressly purchase a recurring subscription plan in the future.
Because the Founder Pass provides access to digital content and premium training features, it may be delivered and made available immediately after purchase.
4. General Rule: Digital Purchases Are Final Once Access Begins
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, purchases of digital access are final and non-refundable once premium access has been made available to your account.
This means that we generally do not provide refunds merely because:
- you changed your mind after purchase;
- you no longer want to use the Service;
- you did not use the Service after purchase;
- you purchased the wrong product but premium access was already activated;
- you expected different personal, educational, or professional results;
- you disagree with the educational approach or difficulty level;
- you later found a discount, promotion, or different price;
- you did not cancel a future subscription, if subscriptions are introduced later; or
- your device, browser, network, or local settings prevent optimal use of the Service.
This general rule does not limit any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country, state, or region.
5. EU, EEA and UK Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer located in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you may generally have a legal right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days, without giving any reason.
However, for digital content or digital services supplied immediately, your right of withdrawal may be lost if:
- you expressly consent to the immediate supply of the digital content or digital service before the end of the withdrawal period; and
- you acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the supply or performance begins, where permitted by applicable law.
If we give you immediate access to the Founder Pass or other premium digital features, we may ask you during checkout to confirm that:
“I expressly consent to immediate access to the digital content and premium features and acknowledge that I will lose my right of withdrawal once access begins.”
If you provide this consent and acknowledgement, and premium access begins, you will generally no longer be entitled to withdraw from the purchase or receive a refund under the 14-day withdrawal right, unless another mandatory legal remedy applies.
If you are entitled to withdraw and have not consented to immediate access or have not lost your withdrawal right, you may submit a withdrawal request within the legal withdrawal period by contacting us at contact@micro-signs.com.
6. Model Withdrawal Request for EU, EEA and UK Consumers
If you are legally entitled to withdraw, you may use the model form below. Use of this form is not mandatory. Any clear written statement expressing your decision to withdraw is sufficient.
To: MicroSigns / NON | NÉGOCIABLE
Email: contact@micro-signs.com
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the purchase of the following digital product:
Product: [Founder Pass / other product]
Ordered on: [date]
Email used for purchase: [your account email]
Name of consumer: [your name]
Date: [date]
7. Exceptional Refunds
Even where a purchase is normally final, we may review refund requests on a case-by-case basis in exceptional circumstances.
Exceptional refund situations may include:
- a duplicate charge for the same product on the same account;
- a manifest billing error caused by MicroSigns or our payment provider;
- a fraudulent or unauthorized transaction, subject to verification;
- premium access was not activated after a successful payment;
- a persistent technical issue on our side prevents access to the purchased premium features;
- we permanently discontinue the paid product shortly after your purchase without providing a reasonable alternative; or
- applicable law requires a refund.
We may refuse refund requests that appear abusive, fraudulent, inconsistent with account activity, made after significant use of premium content, or unsupported by reasonable evidence.
8. Technical Issues
If you experience a technical issue, please contact us before requesting a refund. In many cases, issues can be resolved by checking your account status, login method, browser, device, payment confirmation, or network configuration.
A technical issue may justify a refund only if:
- the issue is caused by MicroSigns or our infrastructure;
- the issue materially prevents access to the purchased premium features;
- the issue persists after reasonable troubleshooting; and
- we are unable to restore access or provide a reasonable alternative.
Temporary maintenance, short outages, browser-specific display issues, local network problems, or device incompatibility will not automatically qualify for a refund.
9. Duplicate Payments and Billing Errors
If you believe you were charged more than once for the same purchase, contact us at contact@micro-signs.com with:
- the email address used for purchase;
- the transaction date;
- the amount charged;
- the last four digits of the payment card, if relevant;
- the Stripe receipt, invoice, or transaction reference if available; and
- a screenshot or bank statement excerpt showing the duplicate charge, if necessary.
If we confirm a duplicate payment or billing error, we will refund the incorrect charge to the original payment method where possible.
10. Unauthorized or Fraudulent Charges
If you believe a charge was unauthorized or fraudulent, contact us immediately at contact@micro-signs.com.
We may ask for information to verify the transaction and protect the account. We may suspend the relevant account or premium access while reviewing the matter.
If the charge appears unauthorized, you may also contact your bank, card issuer, or payment provider. Nothing in this Refund Policy limits your legal right to dispute an unauthorized transaction through your payment provider.
11. Chargebacks
Please contact us first if you believe there is a billing issue. We aim to resolve legitimate payment problems quickly and fairly.
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute, we may provide relevant transaction records, account activity, access logs, consent records, checkout disclosures, and support communications to the payment provider in order to respond to the dispute.
If a chargeback is filed after premium access has been used, we may suspend or terminate premium access while the dispute is pending or after it is resolved.
12. Refund Method and Timing
Approved refunds are generally issued to the original payment method used for purchase. We cannot guarantee that refunds can be issued to a different payment method.
Once we approve a refund, processing times may vary depending on Stripe, your bank, card issuer, payment method, country, currency, and payment network.
We are not responsible for delays caused by banks, card issuers, payment networks, or payment providers after we have initiated the refund.
13. Currency Conversion, Bank Fees and Taxes
If your payment involved currency conversion, your refunded amount may differ from the amount originally charged due to exchange rate fluctuations, bank fees, card issuer fees, payment network fees, or foreign transaction fees.
We do not control and are not responsible for fees charged by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.
Where taxes were collected on your purchase, refunded taxes will be handled according to the applicable tax rules and the capabilities of our payment provider.
14. Promotional Prices, Discounts and Price Changes
We may offer promotional prices, early-access prices, launch prices, coupons, or limited-time discounts.
If you purchase at one price and a lower price is offered later, you are not automatically entitled to a refund of the difference, unless required by applicable law or expressly stated in the promotion.
Promotional offers may be limited by time, geography, account type, eligibility, or availability.
15. Business, Professional and Enterprise Purchases
If you purchase MicroSigns for business, professional, institutional, educational, training, enterprise, or resale purposes, consumer withdrawal rights may not apply.
Business or enterprise purchases may be subject to separate written agreements, invoices, purchase orders, or commercial terms. In case of conflict, the specific written agreement will prevail over this Refund Policy.
16. Account Suspension and Terms Violations
You are not entitled to a refund if your account is suspended or terminated because you violated our Terms & Conditions, including rules against scraping, copying the dataset, bypassing access controls, sharing paid access, using automated extraction tools, or using MicroSigns for prohibited biometric, AI, HR, surveillance, or unlawful purposes.
We may also refuse refunds in cases of abusive refund behavior, repeated refund requests, payment manipulation, fraudulent account creation, or misuse of promotional offers.
17. Future Subscriptions
The Founder Pass is not a subscription.
If MicroSigns later offers recurring subscriptions, the checkout page will clearly disclose the recurring price, billing frequency, renewal terms, cancellation method, and any trial conditions before you subscribe.
Subscription refunds, cancellations, renewals, and prorated refunds may be governed by separate subscription terms displayed at the time of purchase.
18. How to Request a Refund or Withdrawal
To request a refund, report a billing issue, or exercise a valid withdrawal right, contact us at contact@micro-signs.com.
Please include:
- your full name, if available;
- the email address used for your MicroSigns account;
- the email address used for payment, if different;
- the date of purchase;
- the product purchased;
- the payment receipt, invoice, or transaction ID, if available;
- a clear explanation of your request; and
- any evidence of the issue, such as screenshots or error messages.
We may need to verify your identity, payment status, account activity, access history, and eligibility before approving or refusing a refund request.
19. Review of Refund Requests
We review refund requests in good faith and in accordance with this Refund Policy, our Terms & Conditions, applicable consumer protection laws, payment provider rules, and the evidence available to us.
We may approve, partially approve, reject, or request additional information about a refund request.
If we reject your request, we will provide a short explanation unless we are prevented from doing so for security, fraud prevention, legal, or payment provider reasons.
20. Consumer Mediation
If you are a consumer resident in France or the European Union and a dispute remains unresolved after you contact us directly, you may have the right to access a consumer mediation mechanism free of charge, where applicable.
This does not prevent you from bringing a claim before a competent court where permitted by law.
21. Relationship With Other Policies
This Refund Policy should be read together with our:
- Terms & Conditions: Terms of Service
- Privacy Policy: Privacy Policy
- Cookie Policy: Cookie Policy
If there is a conflict between this Refund Policy and mandatory consumer protection law, the mandatory legal rule will prevail.
22. Changes to This Refund Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our products, payment flows, refund process, legal obligations, or consumer protection requirements.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
The refund terms applicable to your purchase are generally the terms displayed or made available to you at the time of purchase, subject to mandatory legal requirements.
